Hi there! I'm Sarah, a chemical engineering graduate turned chef. I've always loved to cook but I've never attended culinary school, instead I've been learning through books and online resources. After graduating from UCL, I threw myself into the kitchen of a fine dining restaurant without any experience (because why not?). For a year, I worked 12-14 hour shifts and progressed from intern to chef de partie. Currently, I'm starting my own F&B business and would like to spend some of my down-time teaching others how to bake and cook (and maybe make some friends along the way). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please feel free to contact me to see my "portfolio" (basically photos of things that I've cooked), ask if i'm able to teach something in particular or learn more about what I'm able to teach. My favourite things to bake/cook are cakes, cupcakes, cookies and all things italian (especially fresh pasta!). I also love fermented foods and sometimes make my own yogurt, kombucha and pickles. Other basic skills that I'd like to share include: knife sharpening and knife skills, mise en place, sous vide cooking techniques, fine dining plating techniques, meal prepping techniques, recipe adaptation and experimentation, recipe scaling, cooking with leftovers/what's in your fridge and minimising food wastage (using food scraps). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My hourly rates are S$50; this includes the recipes, the rental of tools and equipment that you may lack and the service of procuring ingredients for the lesson, but does NOT include ingredient costs. The lesson duration varies and depends on what you would like to cook/bake and how in-depth you'd like the lesson to be.
